One for the Murphy's

Twelve-year-old Carley Connors can take a lot. Growing up in Las Vegas with her fun-loving mother, she's learned to be tough. But she never expected a betrayal that would land her in a foster care. When she's placed with the Murphys, a lively family with three boys, she's blindsided. She wonders if happy families really exist. Carley knows she could never belong in their world, so she keeps her distance. As time goes on, Carley grows closer to her foster family to the point that when news from her mother comes it shakes up her entire world.

One for the Murphy’s is an incredibly heart-warming story that sheds light on struggles that many families face today.  I enjoyed this story because it showed an example worth having faith in humanity, even if it was fictional.
